Columbus is the largest city of the American state of Ohio. The city was founded in 1812 at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers. The city has a total area of 550.5 km² (212.6 mi²). Out of which 544.6 km² (210.3 mi²) comprises of land and 5.9 km² (2.3 mi²) comprises of water.
The city has a humid continental climate, characterized by hot, muggy summers and cold, dry winters. Columbus has a mild, temperate climate with four distinct seasons: winter, summer, autumn and spring. The weather in Columbus is pleasant. There is an annual average snowfall in Columbus of 28 inches. Residents of Columbus are generally known as Columbusites. |
